Company Overview

Established in 1981, Thom Kight & Company is a family-run business of experienced local and international funeral directors.

We assist bereaved families with arranging and overseeing burials, cremations, funerals, repatriations (national and international), and memorial services. We belong to industry associations worldwide that underlines our commitment to delivering the highest standards in funeral services.

We currently have three generations of the Thom Kight Family working in our daily services.

Repatriation

Together with an extensive and trusted network of partners, we do national and International repatriation of mortal remains.

Funeral

We offer a range of professional and bespoke funeral services for your loved one.

Burial

If the deceased is to be buried, we will assist you with all the arrangements, including a graveside service if you choose.

Cremation

If the deceased is to be cremated, we will arrange this with the crematorium. We can advise you on your options regarding the ashes.

Memorial

There are options available to create a meaningful memorial service at Thom Kight & Company that honours the deceased after the body was cremated or buried.

Floristry

Funeral etiquette varies from faith to faith. We can help you choose a profound and heartfelt tribute to the deceased with flowers tailored to your request.

Catering

We offer personalised catering and refreshments in-house to help ease the burden during this traumatic period.

OUR LEGACY

Thomas Keight 1943 - 2015

Thomas Keight founded the company in 1981, earning a reputation for managing every detail with sensitivity and empathy.

Thomas Keight was born in England in 1943 where at the age of 16 years, he entered a 5 year apprenticeship with a local Funeral Director learning all the aspects of the business including hand crafting coffins, embalming, documentation and conducting funerals as well as attending art college 2 nights a week to become a qualified monumental mason.

Quality and standards are what bereaved families assume, want, and expect from funeral directors. We are a member of the World Organisation of Funeral Operatives (FIAT–IFTA) and a founding member of the Independent Funeral Directors Association of Southern Africa (IFDA). To maintain high standards, our staff undertakes continued training and reviews professional practice standards.
